Today - Plan Your Epitaph Day, Army Day, Tartan Day, Day Of Hope, Caramel Popcorn Day and New Beer's Eve

Next Wednesday - Scrabble Day, Thomas Jefferson Day and Bookmobile Day 

May 6 - Since this is my birthday (and it's a Friday), I'm going to celebrate several of these: Beverage Day, No Pants Day, No Diet Day, No Homework Day and Military Spouse Appreciation Day I know how much of a sacrifice my wife had to make during the 10 years I was in the California Air National Guard...the weekend drill every month, the 2 week annual training, the six months in technical school and the 2 1.2 months deployed in Diego Garcia. Since I was never involved in any combat, these were like mini vacations for me, although I know it wasn't for her. Especially the 6 month school...Nick was only 4 years old at the time and Danny was only 8. She had to get by on one third of my normal pay during that time, she had to switch to TriCare (the military insurance plan) and general, all around hardships!
