Growth or Fixed: How's your mindset?

This was going to be a blog post two weeks ago, but I wanted to learn more about the panel members before I wrote the blog.

What do I mean by panel members? This post is based on a panel discussion 2 weeks ago Sunday, on October 23rd, for a forum called Grace, Guts and Gratitude that convenes once a month. This past forum was about Mindset and was based in part on a book by Carol Dweck called "Mindset: The New Psychology of Success". Here is a passage from the book:
"In a fixed mindset students believe their basic abilities, their intelligence, their talents, are just fixed traits. They have a certain amount and that's that, and then their goal becomes to look smart all the time and never look dumb. In a growth mindset students understand that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching and persistence. They don't necessarily think everyone's the same or anyone can be Einstein, but they believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it."

The Guts, Grace & Gratitude Forum is a closed group on Facebook. I believe it's open to everyone, but you have to be admitted to the group.

The panel is normally made up of 4 very successful women and moderated by a fifth successful woman. All of these women are leaders with SendOutCards, although SendOutCards is never mentioned. These women are sharing what they've learned in building a network marketing business with every woman out there who's currently building a network marketing business or thinking about starting one...and for the men in network marketing since 70% of the industry is made up of women.

The moderator is Vanessa Hunter, VP of Marketing with SendOutCards. Vanessa built a successful business but went over to the corporate side of network marketing 25 years ago.

The normal panel is made up of Melissa Barlock, a mother of 2 young children, who is the 2016 Distributor of the Year with SendOutCards. Melissa comes from the corporate world and SOC is her first venture into network marketing. Phebe Trotman is another Canadian, like Melissa. Phebe is building her SendOutCards business while also being a soccer coach. Callie Teegardin is also a former corporate executive who left her six figure job and is building a massive network marketing business. And Jules Price, who sings with the New York City Ballet and is also hugely successful with SOC and has also written a book "Secrets from the SOC Drawer". All of these women have been successful outside the network marketing industry, as well as within.

Here is the recording of the call from October 23rd. Phebe and Jules weren't available for this call, although they've been on all the others.
