Small Business Saturday #TBT

This is a post from 2 years ago.

What is Small Business Saturday? According to Wikipedia:

Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after U.S. Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.

It seems that people go crazy on the day after Thanksgiving going to the big stores to get special deals, but I think this photo says it best:

I'm starting to buy as many products and services from people running home based businesses. I just became a Melaleuca customer to buy all of my household products from a friend.

During the holiday season, please take a few minutes to visit that small specialty shop near you or shop at the small, neighborhood grocery store. And if you have a friend with a home based business, consider helping them out, too.

Interesting days

Today - Today is both Take A Hike Day and Unfriend Day Interesting coincidence or just karma? Plus it's also Social Enterprise DayBeaujolais Nouveau DayUse Less Stuff Day, World Prematurity DayPetroleum Day and Homemade Bread Day If anybody is baking bread today, I'm available
