Relationship marketing review

I've covered a lot of information about relationship marketing over the past week and thought I'd give a quick review before I continue with it tomorrow.

Last Wednesday I talked a little bit about what relationship marketing is. In that post I said
relationship marketing focuses on building a relationship with your clients or prospective clients, instead of just marketing to them.
On Monday I talked about the 3 reasons why you should be doing relationship marketing:

1. You'll get new customers

90% of your competitors are fighting over the same 10% of the marketplace

2. You'll retain your existing customers

Let your customers/clients know you care about their business

3. You'll stay top of mind

How many of you got a birthday card from your dentist, insurance agent or other service provider? Go ahead, raise your hand. Now keep your hand raised if you remember that person's name. Raise it even higher if you're likely to refer that person to a friend.

And on Tuesday I wrote about turning contacts into raving fans. That was a long and detailed article about the different ways and different opportunities to stay in touch with your contacts, prospects and  customers.

Here's an excellent article on some of the dos and don'ts of relationship marketing. Thanks to Mike Roy for sharing it with the Official SendOutCards Facebook group.

Interesting days

Today - https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/jazz-day/ Maybe a little smooth jazz today? It's also https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/honesty-day/ and https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/poem-in-your-pocket-day/ Keats? Browning? Byron? And Raleigh says he likes oatmeal cookies.

Tomorrow - There are actually 8 things to celebrate, but here are two of them: https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/lei-day/ I'm ready to go back to Hawaii. And it's https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/batman-day/

Next Thursday - https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/roast-leg-of-lamb-day/ This sounds pretty good. Anybody know where I can get some? Preferably in the East Bay

May 30 - https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/mint-julep-day/ Have you ever had one? Or three? It's also https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/loomis-day/ Who? And https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/water-a-flower-day/ Except in California where it's a felony. And lastly but not leastly, it's https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/neighbor-day/ Won't you be mine?
