What is relationship marketing?

This is a term that I'm hearing more and more, not only within SendOutCards, but other places as well. But what does it mean?

SOC (SendOutCards) has recently started a 2 day seminar called "Master Relationship Marketing". They've done 3 so far, across the country, and the next one is coming up in Jacksonville, FL in about a month. This is not a SendOutCards promotional event. It is a serious training event for anybody in business, sales or marketing. Here is a link to the upcoming event. This is a full 2 day event. The cost is $49 for both days and is a $1,200 value.

I'm going to do a series of blog posts on this subject. I haven't been to a MRM seminar yet, but I've been getting information on it and I'd like to share it. As many of you know, I was at a SOC event this past weekend in Fresno and two of the speakers, Sara Smith and Casey Eberhart, both spoke on the subject of relationship marketing. In fact, Casey was one of the featured speakers at the first MRM event in Salt Lake City a couple of months ago.

So, as a quick introduction, relationship marketing focuses on building a relationship with your clients or prospective clients, instead of just marketing to them. In future posts I'll talk about numbers and things like that, but in this post I just wanted to introduce the subject and hopefully whet your appetite.
