So far we've talked about vision and mission. Mission is basically where you are now and vision is where you want to be. And the way you get there is by creating goals.

I really like this quote! I believe it's from Napoleon Hill.

We all have dreams and oftentimes they stay that way. If you want to make your dreams a reality, you need to decide when you want it to come true and then work on making it happen.

Let's break this down a little and see how we can apply it.

goal

noun

1.
the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end.

dream
noun
6.    an aspiration; goal; aim:
A trip to Europe is his dream.

deadline

noun

1.
the time by which something must be finished or submitted; the latest time for finishing something:
a five o'clock deadline.

(again after 3 definitions it doesn't seem to want to go back to the left margin)

According to the definitions a goal and a dream are basically the same, except goal does mention effort, which dream doesn't.

So, if we take the dream above "A trip to Europe is his dream" and add a deadline to it, it becomes a goal. The deadline above "a five o'clock deadline" is probably not practical in this case, so maybe "A trip to Europe in June of next year is his goal".

So, now you have a goal. The next step is to figure out what you have to do and when you have to do it to accomplish your goal. Those are your objectives.

Interesting days

Today - https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/mad-hatter-day/ General silliness is the order of the day

Tomorrow - https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/frappe-day/ Who makes the best frappe?

Next Monday - https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/yorkshire-pudding-day/ If I remember right, Gulliver's near the San Francisco airport serves this. I haven't been there in years. I wonder if they're still open

November 6 - https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/nachos-day/ The Canteena here in Paradise makes pretty good nachos. Do you have a favorite bar or restaurant that serves nachos? Or do you make your own?
