Map Reading Week began yesterday and runs through Sunday. I've written about map reading here and here. The first post talks about orienteering and how to read a topographic map, while the second post talks about street maps.

In the blog post about orienteering I talk about several permanent courses. Here is a list of courses in the SF Bay Area. And one in Modesto. And here is a list of semi-permanent "Corona" training courses, again in the SF Bay Area.

Go out and have some map and compass fun! I'll probably be doing the two courses in Walnut Creek on Saturday, since I check my PO Box in San Ramon every two weeks and this Saturday is the day.
